Almost white: furnishing with "almost - white"
White has always been widely used in the world of interior design. Neutral color par excellence, but with the possibility of having more or less cold and warm undertones. Very trendy in the design of this 2021 is the almost white furniture: white with hints of other colors, always very neutral and clear. Optical white, cream, ivory, beige, cream, stone gray, ice ... are just some of the colors you can use!
We want to tell you how, in our opinion, you can make a home lively and interesting with such a neutral and clear color palette.
Texture
One of the most effective ways to move a palette where white predominates is the right mix of textures! The use of only one or a few colors can always lead to the risk of having a flat and monotonous effect.
Through the use of materials with different textures or surface finishes, movement and dynamism can be created.
How? With lighting!
The light, in fact, hitting the different textures adds depth and movement to the design thanks to the play of light and shadows that are created.
There are many textured wall paints on the market, or you can opt for wallpapers with different embossed patterns. Or again for a whitened floor, or in any case with light tones, with an important surface processing, capable of highlighting the veins.
Light
Another key element when using a narrow color palette is light. The correct light design, we have already said this many times, is able to enhance your home. Both in terms of textures (as we said above) and to characterize an environment, lighting is essential.
In this sense, the temperature of the light and its orientation with respect to the environment are very important.
In fact, choose a more yellow light if you want to create a welcoming environment, while a whiter one will be perfect for instilling the feeling of order. As for orientation, try to position the lights so that they enhance the texture, for example, of the walls with a lamp parallel to them. Or use spotlights to highlight the shine of a specific complement.
Glossy - matte alternation
This mix combines the two points above. In fact, thanks to the two opposite textures and the light that hits them, you can create a very interesting and useful combination to move your design even more.
White and decorations
If you want to create particularities in your environments, you can think of inserting decorations or motifs.
For both walls and furnishings, you can opt for geometric or abstract patterns in shades of beige or gray. In this way you can continue to furnish your home with the "almost - white" style so popular this year. At the same time, however, you can bring small touches of color that will brighten the environment.
Material mix
The material mix is perfect for obtaining heterogeneous, interesting and full of stimuli environments. In fact, inserting different materials into your design will give you the ability to create particular scripts even without the use of saturated colors. All you need is imagination, a correct light design and the right combinations of white and neutral colors.
It mixes the lightness of linen with the solidity of wood, the gloss of glass with the opacity of stone, the softness of the skin with the "three-dimensionality" of our wallpapers.
